Hi Mehdi,

Thank you for participating in Microsoft Communities. I appreciate your interest in posting your query.

I would require more information regarding the issue:

· Is the issue with the specific document or with all the documents?

· Is the printer connected to the local computer or is it on a network?

· Does the print preview appear fine?

Try creating a new document, apply the footnote numbering and check.

Also, try to save the file as XPS and check if the issue occurs:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/word-help/save-as-xps-HA102351576.aspx#BM11

You may also, check if the printer is set as a default:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/set-change-your-default-printer

If the printing works fine with the XPS viewer, then contact your printer manufacturer to update/reinstall the printer drivers.

Let us know the concerns over the issue to assist you better.

Thank you.

Thank you for your quick response.

1- The issue is just with one document

2- The printer is connected to local computer

3- The print preview appear fine

EVERYTHING IS FINE in newly created documents. and in exporting the document to pdf mode using word's export, again, the footnotes are fine.

I downloaded the latest version of my printer "Canon MP500" x64 driver(windows7 x64 driver) and installed it, but the issue occurs again.

However, while printing the document by printer, or in creating pdf using Nitro Pdf creator( like printer issue), all of the footnotes change to continuous.

If possible, I can attach the document for your better analysis.

thank you

If you copy document content, minus the final paragraph mark of the document, into a new file, does that improve the situation?

To see paragraph marks (¶), as well as other nonprinting marks, click the ¶ button on the Home tab.

I couldn't reproduce the problem here. Footnotes look OK when printing; they restart on each page properly.

Maybe there is something wrong with my word 2013's printer preferences.

If you were me, what would you do?

You have an urgent waiting for publishing book, everything is ok, but the footnotes convert to "continuous" in printing with physical printer or Nitro pdf software.

Maybe this could help: My first version of document was 2000. and I have converted it to 2013.

If you save to PDF using Word's built-in converter (File | Save As), then do the footnotes "behave"? In that case, you should be able to print the PDF.

Unfortunately, in Persian font documents, the quality of the pdf version(using word export tool) is not as good as print version. Therefore, for publishing, I have to print the document's word version by printer, and I should find another way to solve the issue.

Sorry for taking your time

Did you try a previous suggestion of mine (copy the content into a newly created blank document)? If the issue is document-specific, that is definitely worth a shot.
